What I learned during my Christmas Vacation...

For our Open House earlier this month, Mr. Wonderful borrowed a VCR (which we promise to return!) from a friend so that the little ones could watch our antiquated collection of Christmas classics in the playroom whilst the adults mingled.

Since we are still holding the VCR hostage, we have been unearthing all sorts of old videos. It makes for great entertainment.

You can learn a lot from old movies.

Lesson #1: Not every hairstyle is a classic.
While watching footage from her first birthday party,
I said to Daddy's Girl, "Look at you, you were so small!"
To which she replied, "Look at you, you were so (awkward pause) short-haired."
We both agreed that neither the haircut nor the wardrobe are up for revival.

Lesson #2: My kids are my identity...to them.
We watched some video of our wedding with the kids. Mr. Wonderful and I began pointing out various people they might know as we watched the wedding party exit the sanctuary.
After a few minutes of this, Little Prince looked at me and asked, "Where are your children?"

Lesson #3: We weren't as fabulous as we thought.
High school athletics. Need I say more?

All in all it was fun watching everyone and everything that has past.
Who knows what other treasures we might uncover...I shudder to think!
