So Daddy's Girl walks in the room tonight where Mr. Wonderful is at work on the computer, and she asks, "Dad, what are you doing? Are you working on slogans?" (Mr. Wonderful is a PR Director for a local community college.)
Mr. Wonderful replies, "No, why?"
"Because I thought of one."
"Share it with us."
"Community State. You're the fish. We're the bait."
And I thought to myself...marketing...she gets it.
I love to tell a good story. And there are so many good stories to tell. Some will be serious and others...not so much. I hope you find something you like.
I'm a stumbling, bumbling follower of Christ, a sometimes excellent, sometimes excruciating wife of Mr. Wonderful, and a clueless, but purposeful mother of two girls, Daddy's Girl and Sunshine and a boy, Little Prince.
All my imaginations as a child about being grown up were very romantic and I dreamed I, myself, would be very wonderful in it. The reality is just very, very different. Mr. Wonderful does not waltz in from work singing, the babies are not perfectly behaved and I am...well, not always so very fabulous. But it is a great life anyway, not always pretty, but great. How to Cook a Hot Mess is about my life and the people and experiences that are nothing like what I expected.
I met Mr. Wonderful in college thanks to God's amazing patience. We crossed paths sooo many times, but they were the wrong times. He is much more talented than he thinks he is and keeps me in check. We have been married now for almost 15 years, good times and bad times, but I would want no other teammate.
Daddy's Girl
Our firstborn, one of my favorite people on the planet and definite most like her Daddy. Pretty straightforward, DG never holds back what she thinks about anything. She is amazingly helpful and patient with "the babies" and is a performer. She loves "fashion" and older "men." Heaven help us!
Little Prince
Rascal with a heart of gold. That is LP. He is constant motion and my reason for considering buying stock in Super Glue. He has a great smile and a penchant for melting my heart. He is the party!
Sunshine
Our most recent addition to "The Tribe." She is just like her name, a ray of sunshine. She loves to eat and thrills at the sight of Daddy's Girl and Little Prince. I cannot be sad around this child, well...except that she is growing too fast!
hii, nice story and be happy for you to have a grow up children :-)
